Authorities investigate human remains
Houston County Courier -  November 2009

On Saturday, Nov. 7 the Houston County Sheriff’s Office received information regarding skeletal remains that were found on private property located on CR 4545. 
Houston County Sheriff Darrel Bobbitt stated that his deputies responded to the location and secured the area. 
An investigation was initiated and a search for remaining evidence was conducted. 
Texas Ranger Jim Huggins was contacted and has joined the sheriff’s office in looking for clues to identify the found remains. 
The evidence collected thus far is being processed and will be taken to Dallas for a forensic autopsy. 
Officials with HCSO said the investigation was ongoing and additional information would be released when available.
