Annual parade ushers in holiday season

CROCKETT - The 2009 holiday season was ushered in Thursday night, Nov. 19 with the Annual Christmas Parade sponsored by the Houston County Career Women.
People lined the streets around the square to see the beautifully decorated parade entries that expressed the “Letters From Home” theme in various ways.
Judges selected the Jordan School entry, “Your Letters Bring Us Home” as the winner of the Judges Choice Award.
The 1st Assembly of God Church was awarded Most Representative Theme.
The Most Artistic Lighting award was presented to After Care Visiting Nurses and the Most Religious Theme was presented to Church of God, Upside Down Youth Ministry.
The Grace Street Church of Christ received the Best Vehicle Award and the Best Motorcycle or 4-Wheeler was presented to Jordan Ross for Gator.
The Crockett High School Marching Band won the Best Musical Marching Award and Best Non-Musical Marching Award went to Cub Scouts 422, Webalos, Flag Presentation.
Houston County Home Health Care received the Best Equestrian Award.
