Two men charged in theft

CROCKETT - On Monday, Oct. 12 the Houston County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a man stating he had purchased items from two male subjects and believed the items might be stolen.
Deputy Buck Carroll responded to a residence on FM 230 in Weldon to meet with the complainant.

It turned out that the truck owner’s employee was driving the truck at the time the items had been sold.
was able to identify the driver and passenger in the truck through a photo line-up.
The suspects were identified as Casey Walton, 27, and James Drone, 32, both of Trinity.
Walton was the employee of the truck’s owner and did not have permission to be in the truck at that time.
Arrest warrants were issued for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and misdemeanor theft on Walton and misdemeanor theft on Drone.
Both men have been arrested and booked into the Houston County Sheriff’s Office Jail. Walton was arrested on Monday, Nov. 9 and Drone was jailed on Tuesday, Oct. 27.
Bond was set at $4,000 for the theft and $5,500 for UUMV on Walton and $3,000 for theft on Drone.
