Safe stolen from K.B. Express in Grapeland

Grapeland Police officers and a Houston County deputy responded to an alarm call at K.B. Xpress on Wednesday, Nov. 2 around 2:30 a.m. When the officers arrived they found the front door had been pried open, according to a Grapeland Police Department report.. After further investigation and looking at the store video with the owner, it was discovered that two suspects had entered the store and took a safe from the office. Officers were notified by dispatch around 5 a.m. someone had called and reported finding a safe on County Road 2330, north of Grapeland. Grapeland police officers and Houston County sheriff’s deputies processed the safe for evidence. Damage to the business was estimated to be about $1,500-$2,000. Also, $23,000 worth of inactive scratch off tickets were taken. The case is still under investigation. GPD also reports responding to a disturbance in progress on North Olive St. on Monday, Nov. 1. Two white females were arrested and transported to Houston County Jail for assault-family violence. |
