Stabbing victim transported to hospital

On Saturday night, Oct. 3, the Houston County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call regarding an aggravated assault that reportedly occurred in the Weldon area on FM 230. 
HCSO Deputies responded to the location where they found an unconscious man being treated by ETMC EMS personnel. 
According to a witness, the man regained consciousness before he was transported to the hospital.
The victim Jeruel David White, 37, was transported to ETMC Crockett where he reportedly underwent surgery for a stab wound, but was later taken to ETMC in Tyler.
As of press time on Friday, Oct. 9, the case remained under investigation by the sheriff’s office.
