Intersection crash injures two

A two vehicle crash on Thursday, Oct. 1 at the intersection of Loop 304 and South Fourth Street resulted in one man being transported to ETMC Crockett by ETMC EMS.
According to reports, the crash occurred about 1:12 p.m. when a 2005 Ford F-150 driven by Johnny Butler, 30, or Tyler, failed to fully stop at a stop sign and crashed into a 2008 Chevrolet Colorado, driven by Brenda McClendon, 47, of Polk, who was westbound on Loop 304.
The Ford pickup that was northbound on Fourth Street reportedly crashed into the ditch after colliding with the side of the Chevrolet.
ETMC EMS transported Howard Keith, 38, of Longview, a passenger in Butler’s vehicle, to ETMC Crockett for treatment of the injuries he sustained in the crash.
Crockett Police Department and Crockett Fire Department also responded to the call.
Butler was cited for expired driver’s license and as of press time on Friday, Oct. 2 the crash remained under investigation.
In a separate incident earlier in the day, Crockett Police Department responded to a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Loop 304 and Old San Antonio Road about 10:42 a.m.
According to reports, a 2004 GMC SUV , driven by Kendra Bush, 27, of Lovelady, and a 2007 Ford Taurus, driven by Larry Beavers, 40, of Crockett were both westbound on Loop 304 at the time of the crash.
Authorities said that Beavers was attempting to make a right turn when his Taurus was struck from the rear by Ms. Bush’s SUV.
ETMC EMS transported Victoria Beavers, 20, a passenger in the Taurus, to ETMC Crockett for treatment of injuries she sustained in the crash.
Ms. Bush was cited for following too close and Beaver was cited for expired driver’s license.
The Crockett Fire Department also responded to the call.
As of press time on Friday morning, Oct. 2 the crash remained under investigation.
