Community Resource Fair at Head Start big success

On Thursday, Oct. 1, the Greater East Texas Community Action Program, Head Start/Early Head Start Child Development Center held a community resource fair for parents, students and the community to come and enjoy and celebrate October as Head Start Awareness Month.
Crockett Mayor Wayne Mask even stopped by to present a proclamation for the month of October declaring it as Head Start Awareness Month.
The Crockett Head Start is also celebrating 41 years in business.
The center is a non profit organization established in 1968 to provide services to low income children and families in Nacogdoches County and the center expanded to Houston County in 1988.
Vendors of all kinds showed up to be a part of the community fair.
Vendors included, Texas Pride, Cornerstone ECI Program, Houston County Attorney’s Office, DETCOG/Health, DETCOG, Region 5 Prevention, Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, Kalin’s Center, Community Care Center, Methodist Children’s Home Outreach, Crockett Resource Center, DETCOG/Area Agency on Aging, Maximus, Health Horizons and Family Crisis Center.
