Lawsuit filed against CISD; Board to meet Monday

Another lawsuit has been filed against a public entity in Houston County. This time, it is LaRhonda Hunter vs. Crockett I.S.D. At 4:30 p.m. Friday afternoon, Oct. 29, the Crockett I.S.D. posted notice that its Board of Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 1. The posted agenda indicates the board will meet in executive session with its attorney, possibly via a telephone conference call, videoconference call or communications over the Internet. When the board returns to open session, it will consider and possible act to designate one or more board members to receive trustee requests for legal advice or information from the district’s legal counsel under board policy. The board will also consider and possibly act to retain the services of a law firm for the limited purposes of responding to LaRhonda Hunter vs Crockett Independent School District. The meeting on Monday, Nov. 1 will be held in the CISD Administration Office, 1400 W. Austin St. in Crockett. |
