Crash takes life of woman

Melanie Munsell, 55, of Lovelady was pronounced dead at the scene of a two vehicle collision Friday, Sept. 24. (See photo on left) Department of Public Safety Chad Seamans reported the collision occurred about one mile east of the intersection of HWY 19 and FM 1280 at about 6:20 a.m. Munsell was traveling west on FM 1280, when she entered the eastbound lane of FM 1280. According to Seamans, Charlie D. Graham, 51, of Lovelady was traveling east on FM 1280, in the eastbound lane, when Munsell’s vehicle side- skidded his 2001 red Ford truck. Seamans determined that speed, fog and roadway dampness contributed to the collision. He reported Graham received some minor scratches. He also reported Seamans is survived by her husband, John Munselle of Lovelady. A two-vehicle crash in Trinity County took the life of a Grapeland woman just one week ago. |
