Head-on crash injures two
Houston County Courier - September 2009

A nearly head-on collision on Hwy. 19 north about 3 miles from Loop 304 on Wednesday afternoon injured two Lindale residents.
According to reports, a northbound 2009 Chrysler 300, driven by Emmet Poindexter, 51, of Austin, was attempting to make a left turn into a private drive about 2:20 p.m. and collided with a southbound 2006 Chrysler 300 driven by Ann Taylor, 65 of Lindale.
Mrs. Taylor and her husband G.W. Taylor, 77, were both transported to ETMC Crockett by ETMC EMS for treatment of the injuries they sustained in the crash.
Poindexter reportedly told authorities that a hill obstructed his view and he did not see the approaching vehicle before they collided.
ETMC EMS Regional Director Roy Langford was one of the first people on the scene of the crash and assisted the injured until other paramedics arrived.
A passenger in Poindexter’s vehicle, Alexander Mathes, 35, was not reported as injured in the incident.
Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper I Brady Germeroth, and Latexo Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the call.
Officials on the scene said that ironically, both of the vehicles involved in the crash, as well as one driven by a witness, were the same color and model.
