Troopers seize 3,212 pounds of marijuana near Hebbronville

DPS troopers seized 3,212 pounds of marijuana Friday morning during a traffic stop on SH-59 near Hebbronville in Jim Hogg County.
The marijuana, which has an estimated street value of $1.6 million, was concealed in a commercial truck painted to look like it belonged to an oil field service company.
The truck was driven by Jason Jerard Hambric, 34, of Galveston. Hambric was charged with possession of marijuana, a first degree felony, and booked into the Jim Hogg County Jail.
DPS officers were assisted by the U.S. Border Patrol and the Jim Hogg County Sheriff's Office.
