Trio charged in drug arrest

Two men and a woman were charged with possession of a controlled substance following a Sunday night raid on a Grapeland residence.
According to reports, Grapeland Police Department officers and Houston County Sheriff’s Office deputies executed arrest and search warrants at the residence located in the 600 block of Lakeview about 11 p.m. on Sept. 13.
Arrest records indicate that 38-year-old Charlotte Kramer; 47-year-old John Leonard Hataway and 44-year-old Otis Walker were all charged with possession of a controlled substance.
Ms. Kramer was also charged with delivery of a controlled substance and theft by check.
Witnesses said that during the arrest authorities seized a male Pit Bull and a female Pit Bull Dog who had a litter of puppies born earlier in the day.
The witness also said that she was told that drug found on the suspects was believed to be crack cocaine.
