CFD honored at dinner

Members of Crockett Fire Department were honored on Monday, Sept. 21 during the annual “Our Heroes Dinner”
The event was held at 6:30 p.m. at the Crockett Fire Station honored the firefighters hard work and dedication.
The fire department members enjoyed a fried chicken dinner, creamed potatoes, gravy, corn on the cob, black-eyed peas, biscuits, assorted pies and desserts.
As a special treat, numbers were placed on the bottom of their drinking glasses and through the night a number would be called and a firefighter could pick a prize from an ice chest full of meat, flashlights, gloves, portable emergency weather radio and much more, all donated by H.E.B.
The event has been held annually for the past four-five years.
