Long term care volunteer ombudsman needed

JASPER - Do you have a heart of compassion and time to spare? Would you be interested in utilizing your talents and valued time by helping residents in long term care facilities or assisted living facilities? Deep East Texas Area Agency on Aging is now accepting applications for ombudsman volunteers. Volunteer ombudsmen visit residents two hours weekly at a local nursing home or assisted living facilities. They listen to residents’ needs and concerns, help resolve their problems and complaints, and supply information on resident rights and other long term care resources. Volunteer ombudsmen receive free professional training in topics relating to long term care and the role of the volunteer ombudsman.
