HCSO arrests three for area burglaries, car theft

Three suspects who allegedly were involved in several car burglaries, car theft and theft of firearms in the Lovelady and Crockett areas were arrested by the Houston County Sheriff’s Office Thursday, Sept. 13. Authorities also believe the men are responsible for burglaries in other counties. The three arrested were Kykeedrian Shanks, 18, of Crockett; Derrick Jones, 18, of Crockett; and Okoya Davis, 21, of Crockett. All three subjects were arrested and charged with the following crimes: Each subject is charged in Houston County with unauthorized use of a vehicle (State Jail felony, bond set at $8,000), two counts of burglary of a vehicle (a Class A misdemeanor, bond set at $4,000 each), theft of a firearm (a State Jail felony, bond set at $8,000) and two counts of engaging in organized criminal activity (a 3rd Degree felony, bond set at $15,000 for each count). The three suspects remain incarcerated in the Houston County Jail as of press time Friday afternoon, Sept. 14.
