Crockett council to consider financing contracts Monday

Cyndy Keys of Winfield Rehab & Nursing Center will make a presentation at the Crockett City Council meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7 at City Hall, 200 North 5th St. Council members also will hear monthly reports from the police and fire departments, and the deputy city administrator will introduce a new employee. Action items include the following: • Consider and approve list of surplus items to be scrapped and list of vehicles to be sold by sealed bids; all of which no longer serve any useful pupose for the city; • Consider and approve a resolution regarding a financing contract between the City of Crockett and Government Capital Corporation for the pupose of financing police department vehicles and equipment; • Consider and approve a resolution regarding a financing contract between the City of Crockett and Government Capital Corporation for the purpose of financing public works equipment; and • Consider and approve a resolution regarding a financing contract between the City of Crockett and Government Capital Corporation for the purpose of financing solid waste. equipment. There also will be a public hearing on a proposed ordinance adopting "20-year any age" service retirement affecting city employees in the Texas Municipal Retirement System. Following the public hearing, the council will consider and approve an ordinance affecting participation of city employees in the Texas Municipal Retirement System granting the additional rights authorized by Section 854.202(g) of Title 8, Texas Government Code, as amended and prescribing the effective date for the ordinance.
