Kennard man jailed after alleged escape

A Kennard man is in the Houston County Jail after he allegedly evaded arrest, resisted arrest and escaped temporarily while in custody Saturday night, Oct. 19. Ricky Peacock, 50, eventually was booked into the county jail Sunday, Oct. 20. At approximately 10:15 p.m. Saturday, the Houston County Sheriff's Office responded to a domestic disturbance in the 400 block of Agnes St. in Kennard, according to an HCSO report. Officials stated Peacock was charged with violating a protective order, interference with a 911 call, assault-impeding breathing, evading arrest, resisting arrest and escaping while in custody. The injuries seen on Peacock's face in his mug shot were sustained while Peacock escaped from custody, according to the HCSO. Four of the charges against Peacock are misdemeanor offenses and two are felonies. Pct. 1 Justice of the Peace Clyde Black set bond at $3,500 for each of the four misdemeanor charges and $10,000 each for the two felony charges, for a total of $34,000 bond. He remains incarcerated at this time.
