Hundreds converge on Courthouse Square
Houston County Courier

Like a well-oiled machine, hundreds of youngsters from tiny to not so tiny wound around the courthouse square in downtown Crockett, collecting bags full of candy from Crockett merchants on Halloween, Thursday, Oct. 31. Costumes included front loading washing machines, tiny fairies, a mom dressed as Minnie Mouse and escorted by her little Mickey Mouse, some morbid looking men and lots of little lady bugs. Even a few dogs on leashes appeared in costume. The crowd flowed smoothly as everyone seemed to enjoy the clear skies after a day and night of rain that preceded the bewitching hour.
