Celebration ends with gunshot wound to Houston County man By Lynda Jones The new year rang in with a shot in the leg for a 40-year-old Houston County man. Officials in the Houston County Sheriff’s Office report the incident that occurred in Burran Town on CR 1190 Tuesday, Jan.1 as the new year began. Shane Rodgers, 40, was shot in the leg by a suspect who had discharged a small caliber weapon in what was described as celebratory gun fire to ring in the new year, according to HCSO officials. Rodgers was admitted to Lufkin Memorial Hospital. The HCSO is continuing its investigation of the incident. No arrests have been reported as of presstime |
