Grapeland student chosen to perform as National FFA talent

Elizabeth Conner, a member of the Grapeland FFA chapter in Grapeland will be on stage in the spotlight on Wednesday, Oct. 30 - Saturday, Nov. 2 during the 2013 National FFA Convention & Expo in Louisville, KY. Conner, a senior at Grapeland High School and the daughter of Rusty and Angie Conner has been selected as a member of the 2013 National FFA talent. She will perform on stage and bring excitement and spirit to the convention and expo. She was selected based on criteria evaluating quality of performance, stage presence, spirit and ability to relate to the FFA theme. Fifty FFA acts from throughout the United States have been chosen to perform during convention and expo and sessions, meal functions and receptions. New to convention, all acts will have the chance to compete in three rounds of the National FFA Talent Competition. Acts will be judged on showmanship, creativity, sound quality, clarity and stage presence. The winner will receive $250 and will be automatically accepted as a member of the 2014 National Talent.
