Austin Cline Catoe, 19, who drove a truck that was involved in an alcohol-related rollover near Kennard causing the death of Brendan Galloway, then 22, and Mariaah Lopez, 17 at the time, near Kennard on June 26, 2016, agreed to a plea deal Thursday, Sept. 28. Haley Henry was seriously in the incident. Galloway, Lopez and Henry were passengers in the vehicle driven by Catoe. According to Houston County Attorney Daphne Session, who prosecuted Catoe's case, the young man pled guilty to two charges of intoxication manslaughter and one charge of intoxication assault. "The plea agreement reached was for Catoe to serve 10 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice-Institutional Division for the two intoxication manslaughter charges," Session noted in a brief written statement. "Catoe was taken into custody by the Houston County Sheriff's Office at the conclusion of the hearing (Thursday) to begin serving his prison sentence."
