Fire claims home

A juvenile was reported to be seriously burned during a 10 p.m. fire Tuesday night, Oct. 30 at a home located on FM 229 near the Crockett city limits.
According to authorities, the juvenile was taken to ETMC Crockett by his grandfather before emergency personnel arrived on the scene.
The child was then airlifted to the Shriners Hospital in Galveston for treatment of the injuries he sustained in the blaze.
Officials said that in addition to the home, two vehicles were also destroyed in the fire.
Houston County Fire Marshal David Lamb said the cause of the fire remained under investigation as of press time Wednesday.
Crockett Volunteer Fire Department, Latexo Volunteer fire Department, Houston County Sheriff's Office, Crockett Police Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, ETMC EMS and Oncor also responded to the call.
