Pickup rolls, driver cited

The driver of a 2002 Dodge pickup, Richard Brady Bogan, was cited following a crash about 2.8 miles east of Grapeland on FM 288 at 10:20 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31.

According to reports, the 25- year-old was westbound at a high rate of speed when the pickup reportedly began to shimmy.

Reports indicate Bogan, a resident of Grapeland, applied the brakes and in doing so lost control of the vehicle.

The vehicle crossed the road into the south barrow ditch and overturned.

Neither Bogan nor his passenger, Eric Matthew Pyeatt, 25, of Grapeland were transported to the hospital by Grapeland EMS. Bogan was cited for unsafe speed by Texas Department of Public Safety Senior Corporal Bobby Bowlin.

Houston County Sheriff's Office, Grapeland Volunteer Fire Department, and Grapeland Police Department also responded to the call.
