Houston County voters gave the nod to both local propositions in the Tuesday, Nov. 6 election that will allow the sale of alcohol in the county.
With 2,502 votes for and 2,009 votes against, Local Proposition 1 passed approving the legalization of the sale of beer and wine for off-premise consumption only.
Local Proposition 2 legalizing the sale of mixed beverages in restaurants by food and beverage certificate holders passed with voters casting 2,537 ballots for and 1,947 ballots against the measure.
On a local level, voters also gave their approval for the 16 statewide propositions in the election.
