Deputies investigate aggravated robbery

Houston County Sheriff's Office deputies are investigating an aggravated assault that occurred on early Thursday morning, Nov. 1 on Hwy. 7 between Ratcliff and Kennard.
According to authorities, HCSO received a call at 4:38 a.m. from a motorist who reported seeing a man lying in front of a truck parked on the side of the road.
Deputies discovered that the 51-year-old man had suffered blunt force trauma to the head and exhibited signs of strangulation.
The injured man was reportedly the driver of the Crockett Sand and Gravel Truck.
Authorities said personal items belonging to the man had been stolen.
The man was transported to ETMC Crockett by ETMC EMS and later to Tyler for medical treatment.
Kennard First Responders also responded to the call.
The case is under investigation by the Houston County Sheriff's Office and Sheriff Bobbitt is asking anyone who might have information to contact his office at 544-2862 or call 545-
