Students of the Month at Crockett Jr. High
Houston County Courier - November 2007


Students of the Month at Crockett Junior High School are selected by the teachers of each grade level--6th, 7th and 8th--based on a criteria of academics, behavior and character. 

The students were introduced by junior high principal Stephen Tuggle and recognized at the Crockett Independent School District monthly board meeting Monday, Nov. 12.

Students of the Month for September

Nipul Patel, 13, grade 8
Takes band, participates in UIL.
Collects seashells from different beaches.
He would choose his mom, dad, sister and cousin from Georgia to eat Mexican food.
Carson Earp, 13, grade 7
His parents, Craig and Kristi Earp are his role models.
Plays football and basketball
Sports are his hobby.
He would choose Tiger Woods, Larry Bird, John Woolen, and Peyten Manning to eat American cooking.
Clayton Hughes, 11, 6th grade
His mom and day are his role models because "They love me and takes care of me."
Plays the trumpet in band, on the All A Honor Roll, and goes to the church of Christ.
He would choose Carl LaRue, Leon Tran, Benjamin Gardner and Dalton Ferguson to eat Chinese food.  

October Students of the Month

Kenitra Ellis, 13, 8th grade
Her role model and favorite teacher is the late Vernon Durrett, social studies teacher.
She loves to cook and it makes her happy to prepare food for others.  She also enjoys singing.
She would choose Brianna, her mom, her cousin Emmaly and her granny (who she adores) and they would eat either Chinese or Mexican food with Sprite on the side.
Jaquisha Powell, 12, 7th grade
She lives with her family consisting of Fleshia Jones, Jonas Powell and Brocterria Anthony.  She runs track, loves to watch Sponge Bob on TV, plans to attend Prarie View A&M and cites lunch as her favorite subject.
She would choose her mom, grandmother, aunt and Sponge Bob, because she likes him, to dine with her.
Briana Franklin, 11, 6th grade
Roshanda Sandles, Brian Franklin, Jayna Franklin are members of her family.
Her mother is her role model and she has a lot of respect for this parent.
She's on the A Honor Roll and plays in the band.
She loves to read, talk on the telephone, attend New Pleasant Grove church and enjoys praise dancing.
She would invite Tyra Banks, Chris Brown, Tyra Ware and Wilbernish Pendland to eat Italian food with her.
