Firefighters attack structure blaze

Kennard Volunteer Fire Department responded to a structure fire on CR 4608 in Kennard on Wednesday, Oct. 10 about 9 a.m.
According to witnesses, firefighters diligently attacked the fully engulfed structure upon arrival.
At the request of KVFD, Crockett Volunteer Fire Department responded with two trucks and water to assist in the effort to extinguish the blaze.
Pennington Volunteer Fire Department also responded.
Witnesses said a neighbor reportedly notice smoke in the home and called authorities.
The home was said to be unoccupied at the time of the fire and was completely destroyed as a result of the incident.
Firefighters returned to the scene a couple of times Thursday in response to the structure rekindling.
Houston County Fire Marshal David Lamb said the cause of the fire remained under investigation. |
