In response to a flyer that was reportedly distributed in Grapeland and Crockett on Monday, Oct. 8, Grapeland Independent School District Superintendent Buddy Sumrall said there was no validity in it's content.
"This matter does not have any bearing on Grapeland Independent School District," Sumrall said.
Sumrall said that all cafeteria employees must have health cards and a clean bill of health. He said that the cafeteria underwent a health inspection on Thursday, Oct. 4 and received a clear record and a very good rating.
According to Grapeland Police Department Sergeant Dewayne Newman, a report had been filed on the incident.
Sumrall also said that all employees of GISD undergo a criminal history check prior to employment.
'No child at GISD is in any danger from anything printed on these flyers," Sumrall said.
He added, "If this type of thing continues involving GISD, legal proceeding may be initiated."
