Latexo FFA Teams Advance To State

Latexo FFA recently competed in the Sam Houston District FFA Leadership Development Events (LDEs) at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville. 
The Senior Farm Skills team of Jessica Petty, Megan Duvall, Kenny Cloud, Kimberly Rodriguez, and Brandi Adams placed first and advanced to the Area IX FFA LDEs. 
Also advancing to area was the Junior Farm Skills team of Blake Gates, Roy Fajardo, Josh Roberts, Justin Smith, and Klay Currie, which placed second. 
Other teams competing at the district contests were the Public Relations team of Christina LaRue, Kasey Jeffries, and Magen Hutchins; Senior Quiz team of Brittni Sims, Hayden Terrell, Melinda Goolsby, and Sarah Sims; Radio team of Kasey Jeffries, Brian Simpson, and Kimberly Rodriguez; and Senior Creed Speaker Brian Simpson.
The Junior and Senior Farm Skills teams then competed at the Area IX FFA LDEs at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches. 
Both teams placed first in their respective contests and will compete at the Texas FFA State LDEs at Sam Houston State University on Saturday, Dec. 1.
