Voter registration cards to be mailed
Houston County Courier - December 2007
The Houston County Voter Registrar Danette Millican will begin mailing out the 2008-2009 voter registration cards on Thursday, Dec. 6.
These cards will be orange in color, and many will show 911 address changes.
According to Mrs. Millican, because of the great number of address changes that have already been submitted, not all of the cards will show the 911 changes.
The changes are currently being processed and corrected cards will be mailed as they are completed.
Mrs. Millican urges those citizens who have not turned in their 911 address changes, to come by the courthouse annex and complete a change of address form.
When voters receive their voter registration cards, they should check to make sure that the precinct numbers and jurisdictional codes such as city, school and hospital district, are correct.
If a citizen feels they are in the wrong precinct or their jurisdictions are not correct, they should go to the courthouse annex, or call 544-3255, ext. 243.
All voters are strongly encouraged to make sure their voter registration cards are valid and that names, addresses, precincts and jurisdictions are correct.
Mrs. Millican urged citizens not to wait until Election Day to make changes on their cards.
Mrs. Millican said that by law her office is unable make any changes to the voter roll less than 30 days before any election.
