Crash claims life of Kennard youth

A Wednesday night, Dec. 19 crash on CR 4625 in Kennard claimed the life of a 17-year-old Kennard youth and seriously injured Devin Kyle Parrish, 20, of Crockett.
According to reports, Parrish was air lifted to ETMC Tyler by PHI for treatment of the injuries he sustained in the crash that occurred about 5 p.m.
Parrish was reportedly driving a 1996 Ford Escort southbound on CR 4625 when the vehicle continued off the east side of the roadway and struck several trees.
Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper II Michael Hutcherson and Trooper Brent Taylor responded to the call.
Other responders included Crockett Volunteer Fire Department, ETMC EMS, Kennard First Responders, Kennard Volunteer Fire Department, Justice of the Peace Precinct 1 Clyde Black, and Houston County Sheriff's Office.
According to DPS Sergeant Andres de la Garza, as of press time the crash remained under investigation.
