Truck rolls near Eastham

Texas Department of Public Safety trooper from Leon County reportedly responded to a one-vehicle crash on FM 230, near the Eastham Unit of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice at 11:49 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 27.
As of press time on Friday, Dec. 28, Leon County DPS office was closed and unable to provide additional information.
According to reports, an 18-wheeler was southbound on FM 230, failed to negotiate the east curve at the prison entrance and overturned on the west side of the roadway.
The 18-wheeler was reportedly hauling dirt at the time of the incident.
According to witnesses, ETMC EMS responded to the scene but the driver of the 18-wheeler refused treatment and was not transported to the hospital.
Lovelady Volunteer Fire Department, Weldon Volunteer Fire Department and Houston County Sheriff's Office also responded to the call.
A large wrecker responded to the scene and righted the overturned truck and trailer so it could be moved.
