Crime Stoppers plans Wild West Event
Houston County Courier - January 2008

Citizens will have the opportunity to step back in time to the days of "Gunsmoke, Law and Order in the Wild West" on Tuesday, Feb. 26 during the Houston County Crime Stoppers fundraising dinner at the Crockett Civic Center.

The fun-filled event that begins at 6:30 p.m. will feature waiters including Sheriff Matt Dillon, Festus, Miss Kitty, Doc, The Preacher Man, several dancehall girls, The Undertaker, pioneer women, Rustler, Blacksmith, newspaper man, banker and the Hangin' Judge.

Each of the waiters serving the "Chuck-Wagon" barbecue dinner will be dressed in period costume and serve their table of cowpokes for "tips" to benefit the efforts of Crime Stoppers.

Recognized corporate tables seating six are available for a donation of $100.
Individual tickets are available at $15.

Organizers are planning suitable entertainment for the event that will include old-fashioned Western music.

Immediately following dinner, the Houston County Crime Stoppers board of directors will recognize, and pay tribute to, members of local law enforcement and first responders for their dedication to citizens.

For additional information or to purchase advance tickets call Virginia Lewis at 544-8989 or Daphne Hereford at 544-2238.
