Filing ends for Primary Election

Candidates vying for a county office in the upcoming Tuesday, March 4 Primary Election had until Wednesday, Jan. 2 to file as a candidate.
County offices that will be included in the Primary Election are district attorney, county attorney, county commissioners Pct. 1 and Pct. 3, sheriff, county tax-assessor collector, constables Pct. 1 and Pct. 2, Democratic and Republican party chairmen.

The first day voters can apply for ballot by mail is Friday, Jan. 4 and the last day is Tuesday, Feb. 26.
The last day a resident can register to vote is Monday, Feb. 4.
Early Voting will begin on Tuesday, Feb. 19 and continue through Friday, Feb. 29.
The candidates from each party who prevail in the Primary will face each other in the November election.
