After breaking into Houston County Equipment Company sometime between 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17 and 7 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18 thieves made away with a pickup, three Kubota mowers and a trailer.
According to reports, the three Kubota ZD 326S-60- Zero-turn mowers were loaded on a 24' red Gooseneck trailer which was hooked to a white 2006 Ford F350 flatbed pickup and parked in the company's fenced yard in the 1600 block of Loop 304 when they were taken.
Both the pickup and the trailer reportedly had signs containing the company logo on them when they were taken.
Authorities said the culprits cut a lock on the gate to gain entry to the property.
Crockett Police Department Officer James Putman is investigating the case and as of press time early Friday, Jan. 18 no suspects had been named.
According to reports, this is the second incident involving a theft of a tractor from the company in about two months.
A 2007 Kubota 29 HP tractor was reportedly stolen from the business sometime between Wednesday, Nov. 21 and Tuesday, Nov. 27. Houston County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible in the November theft.
