Brown resigns from CISD board

In his absence from the meeting held Monday, Jan. 14, Crockett Independent School District trustees accepted the resignation of Trustee District 4 Harold Brown
Trustees will consider an appointment of an individual to fill the remaining year of Brown's term at the February meeting.
In celebration of school board recognition month, trustees were presented certificates from the administration and student council. In addition, trustees received gift bags from Chartwells and a pen set from Superintendent Dr. Bill Like.
Stovall Grandey and Allen, LLP, of Ft. Worth, offered the 2006-2007 financial audit report in a special online/telephone presentation. Trustees unanimously approved the report.
Following a presentation by Jesse Stephens, CPA trustees approved procedures agreed upon to review the new building construction project costs for J.L. Kingham Construction Company with trustee Claude Watson opposing the measure.
In other business, trustees rejected the only bid received for the new construction fencing project and requested additional bids.
Following an executive session, trustees took no action on the superintendent's evaluation and contract consideration. The measure, along with a budget workshop, will be considered at a meeting set for Monday, Feb. 4.
