Man airlifted following crash
Houston County Courier - February 2008

A Crockett man was air-lifted to ETMC Tyler by PHI about 10 p.m. on Tuesday night, Jan. 29 following a collision on West Goliad Avenue between the bicycle he was riding and a pickup.
According to reports, Danny Burger, 49, was riding a bicycle eastbound in the 100 block of Goliad Avenue when the crash occurred.

Reports indicate that Burger was riding downhill on Goliad Avenue approaching the overpass when his bicycle collided with a westbound 1985 Chevrolet pickup driven by Alton Sandles, 24, of Crockett. Sandles' vehicle was reportedly stopped and he was attempting a left turn at the time of the collision.

Crockett Police Department Officer Rube Adams and ETMC EMS responded to the call.

As of press time on Wednesday, Jan. 30, Officer Adams said the incident remained under investigation.
