Voters take advantage of early voting

Houston County citizens are taking advantage of early voting in a very brisk fashion.
According to Houston County Clerk Bridget Lamb, early voting began on Tuesday, Feb. 19 with 112 Republicans and 93 Democrats casting ballots.

The trend continued on Wednesday, Feb. 20 with 120 Republicans and 65 Democrats making their way to the polls.

Voters on Thursday, Feb. 21 totaled 98 Republicans and 58 Democrats.

Temporary branches have also been established in the county for early voting and in Grapeland on Wednesday, Feb. 20, a total of 39 Republicans and 37 Democrats voiced their choices in the voting booth.

The temporary branch in Kennard on Thursday, Feb. 21 garnered 20 Republican votes and 9 Democratic votes.

 A temporary branch was also open in Lovelady on Friday, Feb. 22.

Early voting will continue at the Houston County Courthouse Annex through Friday, Feb. 29.
