Library to host Cute Kid Photo Contest
Houston County Courier - March 2008

The John H. Wootters Crockett Public Library will conduct its Cute Kid Photo Contest Monday-Monday March 17-31 
Five local judges will determine the winners in each category. 
The winning entries will be prominently displayed at the library on Monday, April 7 and also be highlighted by local media. 
The contest is sponsored by ETBN Photo.
Applications are available at the library's circulation desk or on the homepage of the website at www.crockettlibrary.com. 
Photographs should be candid and age appropriate. According to contest officials, no glamour shots will be accepted. 
The contest has four age divisions: 0 to 2 years; 3 to 5 years; 6 to 8 years and 9 to 12 years. 
Those entering must also have a current library card, which is free with a current Texas Drivers License or ID.
Prizes will be awarded in each division. 
First Place will be presented with a ribbon and $25 in books. 
Second Place will be presented with a ribbon and $15 in books. 
Third Place will be presented with a ribbon and $10 in books. 
Honorable Mentions will be presented with a ribbon. 
This photo contest is the first of two fundraising events to subsidize the 2008 Texas State Reading Club budget. 
The program offers an opportunity to children ages 5 to 12 to read, appreciate music and art, compete, and have fun during the months of June and July. 
The summer reading program is held at the library located at 709 East Houston Avenue.
The completed application, photo or JPEG file on a CD and $10 entry fee must be at the library by 7 p.m. on Monday, March 31.
