Rodeo Brothers Win Reserve Championships

Jordy Denson, a sophomore at Lovelady High School, won the Reserved Champion Header title at the Region V Finals of the Texas High School Rodeo Association, held Saturday-Sunday, April 12-13 in Nacogdoches. 
He and his team roping partner Jake Fortenberry, a junior from Groveton, also finished second in the average and will advance to the state finals to be held in Abilene in June.
In late February, Denson's younger brother, Garrett Denson, an 8th grader at Lovelady Junior High, won the Reserved Champion Heeler title at the Region IX Wrangler Junior High Division Finals in Crockett. His team-roping partner is Chance Savage of Midway. The team will advance to the state finals in Gonzales in early June. 
Garrett also qualified for state by winning 3rd overall in both Tiedown Calf Roping and Ribbon Roping along with partner Morgan Hunter from New Waverly.
Jordy and Garrett are the sons of Larry and Susan Denson.
