Early voting to begin Monday
Houston County Courier - April 2008

Houston County voters will go to the polls to cast their ballots in two upcoming elections; the Houston County Hospital District and several local school districts.
Early voting is set to begin on Monday, April 28 and will continue through Tuesday, May 6.
Residents casting early votes in the Houston County Hospital District (HCHD) election will do so at the Houston County Courthouse Annex.
Citizens who live within the boundaries of Grapeland Independent School District are not eligible to vote in the HCHD election.
Citizens casting early ballots in Kennard, Crockett, and Latexo school district elections will do so at the schools respective administration office.
Early voters in the Lovelady school district election will cast ballots at W.T. Bruton Park.
On the day of the election, Saturday, May 10, in the hospital district election, voters within the boundaries of Crockett ISD precincts 1,2,3 and 4 will cast their ballot at the Houston County Courthouse Annex.
HCHD voters within the boundaries of Latexo ISD will cast their ballot at the administration building.
HCHD voters within the boundaries of Kennard ISD will cast their ballot at the administration building.
HCHD voters within the boundaries of Lovelady ISD will cast their ballot at W.T. Bruton Community Park.
HCHD voters residing in the Groveton ISD within Houston County shall vote at the Holly Community Center in Holly.
HCHD voters residing in the Elkhart ISD within Houston County shall vote at the Latexo school administration building.
Other regular county polling places in the HCHD election include the Porter Springs Fire Station, Austonio community Center, Pearson Chapel Church, and Weldon Fire Station.
Houston County Hospital District At Large Candidates
Position 2 - Danny Ory and George Beeler.
Position 4 - Dr. John Stovall (Incumbent)
Position 6 - Dr. Ray Morrison and Tim Culp.
Position 8 - Deborah Blackwell (Incumbent) and Gene Kellum.
In the school district elections, on the day of the election, Saturday, May 10 residents casting ballots in Kennard, Crockett, and Latexo school district elections will do so at the schools respective administration office.
Voters in the Lovelady school district election will cast ballots at W.T. Bruton Park.

Position 1 - John Turner (incumbent) and Sharla Kilian
Position 2 - Mike Furrh (incumbent) and Joseph Catoe
Position 4 - Genger Galloway and Barbara Stewart
Kennard ISD
Two at large positions - Ronnie Gladden, Barry Barlow, Josh Bobbitt and Grady D. Hogg.
Lovelady ISD
Postion 6 - David Stacks and Billy Jones (incumbent)
Position 7 - Chris Starns (incumbent)
Crockett ISD
District 2 - Pam Ainsworth (incumbent) and James Berry
District 5 - Johnny Lawrence (incumbent) and James Gentry
District 4 - Karen Johnson (unexpired term).
