Time to grab a fishing pole

Kids, bring a pole and enjoy the morning fishing from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 18 at the back pond in Pedigo Park. No pre-registration required kids ages 16 and under to participate and there is no registration fee. Every participant will receive a goodie bag. First and second place winners in each age group will receive a special trophy. There will be hourly drawings. Kid Fish is sponsored by First National Bank, First State Bank, V.F.W. Post 6899, Academy Sports Outdoors in Lufkin, the Texas Game Warden Association and the City of Livingston. Everyone needs to bring their own pole, bait will be provided, or bring your favorite bait if you like. For more information, call Parks & Recreation office at 936-327-5242. If you would like to register early, come by the parks office at Pedigo Park. Lifeguard training course The lifeguard training course will begin at 5 p.m. Thursday, April 16th for the pre-test at Matthews Street Pool. If you are interested in taking the course, please call Parks & Recreation at 936-327-5242 to sign up and for more details about the course. Trade Days Trade Days will be April 17, 18 and 19. Come out and see what is new for spring either for yourself, your yard and for that special person in your life. For those of you who like new and different things Trade Days is the place to be. Easter Eggstravaganza The City of Livingston would like to thank all of our sponsors and volunteers who helped make the Easter Eggstravaganza event possible. Summer Fun 2009 Camp coordinators are needed for Summer Fun 2009. Anyone interested in teaching art, rollerblading, tiny tots basketball, swimming, guard start, computer, theater arts or any other camp session this summer should contact the Parks & Recreation office at 936-327-5242.
