LISD meeting rescheduled for Thursday

LIVINGSTON — The Livingston Independent School District Board of Trustees will hear a presentation on a grant program for beginning teachers induction and mentoring program at a meeting scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday. The meeting originally scheduled for Monday since three board members had boys playing in a high school baseball game and their absence would result in the board not having a quorum. The board will also discuss alcohol free zones are school campuses, Texas Association of School Boards Advocacy Resolutions and whether to accept students of employees into the Pre-K program with a fee. Board members also will consider approval of the 2009-2010 school calendar; the addition of Culinary Arts I and II to the high school courses offered in 2009-2010 and additional dual credit courses for the upcoming year. Assistant Superintendent Diana Kelm will present information about out of district students during Thursday’s meeting. Monthly reports on tax collection, police intervention and technology will also be presented.
