VFW honors injured Marine Aug. 9

LIVINGSTON — Members of VFW Post 8568 presented Marine Lance Corporal Beaux Cochran with a free one-year membership and welcome home coin during the noon session of the District 19 meeting held Aug. 9 at the Livingston post. Cochran is on medical leave from Afghanistan after sustaining a shrapnel wound during an intense fi refi ght in Afghanistan. Bill Tullos, Commander of VFW Post 8568, invited Cochran and his family to attend the District 19 meeting. He was awarded a free membership by Commander Tullos and Comrades of Post 8568. Cochran’s wife, Kelly and his mother, Charlotte Myrow, turned in applications to the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 8568. District 19 Commander, Olin Sonier presented Cochran with a “VFW Welcome Home Medallion” All assembled VFW Comrades and Sisters of the Auxiliary gave Cochran and his family a hearty welcome. Cochran, the son of Kenneth and Charlotte Myrow, will turn 22 Aug. 16. His wife Kelly and sister Rusti are glad to have him home for awhile.
