Polk County Enterprise - August 2009

LIVINGSTON — Trustees for the Livingston Independent School District will consider an interlocal agreement with the City of Livingston to supply water to the construction site of the new high school campus on FM 350 during a meeting set for 6 p.m. Monday. Other details on annexation and extension of water services are in a report on Livingston City Council’s meeting held Tuesday. LISD administrators will report on Annual Yearly Progress made by the district and an end-of-year energy conservation report, one initiative instituted last year to ensure the district could stay within a tighter budget for 2008-09. The board will review a schedule of rental fees assessed when community groups not affiliated with the school use LISD facilities for events.

Charges range from $10 an hour for a classroom to $50 an hour for the auditorium with stage lighting; gymnasiums for playoff games, or the junior high kitchen and cafeteria. The LISD board will consider approval of the budget for the Polk Central Appraisal District. Chief Appraiser Carolyn Allen notified LISD that the 2010 budget has an increase of 1.297 percent over the 2009 budget. A public hearing on the CAD budget will be held at 5:15 p.m. Sept. 1 at the Appraisal District office at 114 Matthews St. in Livingston.

The board will also receive certification from Allen that the appraisal roll has a net taxable value of $1,226,608,197. The board will consider approval of revisions to local policy DEA that would provide Disaster Pay for LISD staff.
