Georgia-Pacific has been actively involved in the Relay for Life of Polk County for many years and received top honors at the County level this year. “The group went above and beyond the call of duty this year to receive the Sixth Top Fundraising Team in the High Plains Division of the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life,” said 2010 Polk County chairman Tammi Ogletree. This division is made up of thousands of teams from over six states in the U.S, and the award does not put teams into categories according to population. This is an unbelievable accomplishment for Georgia- Pacific and Polk County is incredibly proud to have one of its own in the top 10. “The employees and their families have been dedicated to raising money for the American Cancer Society through a variety of year-round fundraisers,” said 2011 chairman Casey Evans. “They know that cancer never stops and neither do their employees when it comes to dedicating time and effort for such a great cause.” Join Georgia-Pacific and many other teams in April as Polk County celebrates 10 years of fundraising for American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life. This year’s theme will be Hula’s, Healing, and Hope. Let’s Luau for a Cause!
