Onalaska to consider renewal of animal control agreement
ONALASKA — City Council members will review an interlocal agreement between the city and Polk County through the Sheriff’s office to assist Onalaska with animal control during a meeting set for 7 p.m. Tuesday. County animal control officers hold animals under quarantine or awaiting court action as well as disposal of the animals. Although the county animal control facility is not complete, the City of Onalaska anticipates use of the facility for stray animal control and disposal purposes. Council members will review an ordinance ordering a general election May 14 and an interlocal agreement with the county for voting equipment and services. The council will also consider an interlocal agreement with Onalaska Independent School District to conduct a joint election. Council members will hear reports from police and fire, departments, the building inspector, library and park representative.
