Commissioners to finalize vehicle purchases
LIVINGSTON — Polk County Commissioners will take fi nal action on the replacement of several patrol cars and other vehicles at Tuesday’s session set for 10 a.m. Tuesday’s action will be a clarifi cation on the fi nal bid award to be included on the reimbursement resolution for year-end issuance of legally authorized debt. The purchase will replace eight high-mileage vehicles from the sheriff’s department fl eet, vehicles for two constables, a pickup capable of towing a trailer for animal control offi cers and an SUV for the emergency management department. Commissioners also will consider a request from the District Attorney’s offi ce to purchase $1,663.50 in computer equipment, to be paid from the general fund balance and included on the reimbursement resolution. County offi cials are also set to consider a request from the Putnam’s Landing Property Owner’s Association for installation of a stop sign at the intersection of Putnam’s Landing Drive and Pearson Avenue, located in Precinct 1. Commissioners will hold a public hearing on the request just prior to the regular meeting Tuesday. Citizens may comment on the proposed stop sign at 9:45 a.m. in the Commissioner’s Courtroom.
