Stolen SUV tracked by GPS from dealership
Polk County Enterprise - January 2010
LIVINGSTON — Employees of a car dealership in Harris County were able to use a global positioning system tracking device in a vehicle stolen from their lot and direct Polk County law enforcement officers to recover the vehicle Saturday morning. Officers with the Polk County Sheriff’s Officer, Livingston Police Department and the Texas Department of Public Safety were told the missing 2003 Trailblazer was entering Livingston on U.S. 59 south. A short time later the GPS re-located the vehicle near Livingston’s north city limits. Deputy Brent Foster stopped the vehicle on U.S. 59 at Beauty Shop Road at about 11:35 a.m. Saturday. José Angel Canderlara, 35, of Houston and James Arthur McCutcheon, 31 of Houston were arrested for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a state jail felony. |
