Clint Davis charged with fleeing wreck
LIVINGSTON – Additional charges are pending against a driver who left the scene of a two-vehicle accident at 12:38 a.m. Sunday on U.S. 190 West. A 2007 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Clinton Byron Davis, 43, of Livingston pulled out of the parking lot of Buster McNutty’s restaurant and bar in the 4700 block of 190 West into the path of a westbound 2006 Toyota Corolla driven by Justin Lenfest, 18, of League City, according to Trooper G. David Flowers. Officials expected an arrest warrant to be issued soon. Updates on this breaking story will be posted as they become available. Lenfest’s car struck Davis’s pickup. Lenfest was taken by private vehicle to Memorial Medical Center in Livingston with non-incapacitating injuries. Others involved in the accident were listed as uninjured. Following the accident, Davis pulled back into the parking lot and left the scene on foot, Flowers said. Davis’s wife, 41-year-old Beverly Snook Davis, was a passenger in the truck and reportedly went back into the restaurant after the collision. She was later ticketed for failure to identify. Clinton Davis has been charged with failure to stop and render aid. The case has been referred to the district attorney’s office for possible further charges. The investigation by DPS was continuing as of press time. Also, despite numerous statements made on social networking websites, Davis has no affiliation with Livingston Independent School District as a volunteer or in any other capacity. |
